Consent service

A platform created by the Estonian Information System Authority that allows citizens to control who can access their personal health data

Estonia's Information System Authority (RIA) tackled the challenge of securely sharing personal health data while giving individuals full control. Together with Industry 62, they developed the innovative Consent Service—a centralized platform that allows citizens to grant permission for the state to share their personal data with specific service providers.

Through the Consent Service, users can easily manage their consents via the state portal eesti.ee, viewing, adjusting, or withdrawing permissions at any time.

The solution enhances transparency and security and enables private companies to responsibly offer innovative services, driving economic growth and setting a new standard for data sharing across Europe.
